Season’s Greetings from the Indian Silk Export Promotion Council (ISEPC)!

This in reference a mail of Deptt of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt of India and to inform your goodself that  The Indian Silk Export Promotion Council (ISEPC) definitely would like to fill the vacuum left out due to the absence of Chinese exhibitors / suppliers in major exhibitions around the world due to national calamities & unfortunate corona virus. 

The Indian Silk Export Promotion Council (ISEPC) deals in the following categories of textiles and garments:

Ø  Silk Garments;

Ø  Silk made-ups Accessories;

Ø  Silk Carpets;

Ø  Silk Fabrics;

Ø  Silk Sarees and other sarees;

Ø  Silk Scarves, Silk Stoles, Silk Shawls;

Ø  High Fashion Accessories;

Ø  Silk Cushion Covers;

Ø  Silk Home Furnishings;

Ø  Silk Blended products;

The Silk sector is the 2nd largest employment provider after agriculture and employs 9.5 million workers, of which over 60% per cent are women; hence, sector holds the key to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's call for skill development and job generation. Exporters shall be participating in a series of National and International Fairs in countries like Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, US, Canada, Australia, Greece, Cyprus to explore business opportunities in this year.  Member participants will participate in international fairs such as Global Sources at Hong Kong, India Tex Trend Fair in Tokyo; Sourcing at Magic Fair in Las Vegas, Apparel Textile Sourcing in Canada. Besides, the member exporters will also participate in Who's Next in Paris in September edition, TEXWORLD USA in New York, International Apparel & Textiles Fair (IATF) in UAE, and India Expo cum BSM in Australia, Brazil, Turkey  in this year calendar year.

The Council also organizing participation in 8th Edition of India International Silk Fair cum RBSM in coming September 2020  at New Delhi and also participating in Textiles India 2020 scheduled to be held in July 2020 at Greater Noida, in Uttar Pradesh.  Intend to invites overseas buyers from the eligible countries to have one to one business meetings.  

Though India's Silk garment exports showed a marginal increase in April 2019-January 2020, exporters are confident of capturing a larger market share due to the support of the government. "While the government has prepared the ground for growth of man-made fibre production in the country with its removal of anti-dumping duty on PTA (Purified Terephthalic Acid), the Council has planned to participate in mega exhibitions across the world to showcase Indian Silk.  The Sericulture sector is the 2nd largest employment provider after agriculture and employs 9.5 million workers, of which women constitute over 60% of those employed in downstream activities of sericulture in the country, and sector holds the key to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's call for skill development and job generation.
