The 4th edition on Global Exhibition on Services (GES) is scheduled to be held from 15 - 18 May 2018 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, India


Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India is organizing Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) are organizing the 4th edition Global Exhibition on Services from 15th – 18th May,2018 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, India. 

2.  In terms of contribution of GDP, FDI, export and employment generation, service are becoming a dominant driver of economic growth, both in development generation, services are becoming a dominant driver of economic growth, both in developed and developing countries. In India too, the services sector remains the key driver of India’s economic growth, contributing almost 53% of its Gross Value Added in 2016 – 2017. 

3.  Recognizing the importance of this sector, the first GES was inaugurated in 2015 by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, with an objective of providing a global platform for increasing trade in services, enhancing strategic cooperation and strengthening multilateral relationship amongst all stakeholder to explore new business avenues. The subsequent editions were inaugurated by then Hon’ ble President of India in 2016 and 2017. 

4.  The upcoming GES 2018 will focus on promoting ‘trade & investment’ in services across countries in various sectors and sub-sectors. This event is expected to have participation from about 100 countries and will also host about 30 knowledge sessions and scores of B2B, B2C meetings. As many as twenty four (24) State Governments of India are also expected to participate. It will especially feature the following services sectors – professional services, exhibition & event services, printing & publishing, facility management, energy services, retail & e-commerce, education, environmental services, banking and financial services, healthcare services, wellness services, tourism & hospitality, sports services, transport & logistics, space, IPR services, skill and start-ups / MSMEs. 

5.  The focus of global growth remains largely in developing countries in which India is an important players. With a favorable demographic profile and growing education and skill attainments, services sector offers a huge potential in Asia & Africa. GES will provide an ideal platform for showcasing services sectors opportunities to Indian as well as Global counterparts.
