Strong relationship between Malaysia-India
Kuala Lumpur, 2 nd Dec- Malaysia and India are ready to take over serious role in enhancing Regional Economy’s Partnership and Cooperation, said Prime Minister Datuk Najib Tun Razak, aiming to create ASEAN as world’s most important economic region. Currently, Malaysia is ASEAN’s gateway to India and we are ready to move ASEAN forward, towards International rank.
During the Economic Times’ Asian Business Leaders Conclave, Najib mentioned that India is Malaysia’s 10 th biggest trade partner and seventh biggest country for Malaysia’s exports, while Malaysia is India’s 11 th biggest import country. India is also the second largest investment country to Malaysia, with investments worth of US$2.31bil invested in Malaysia.
Najib mentioned that reciprocated his Indian Counterpart Narendra Modi’s visit to Malaysia in 2015, by visiting India in April, whereby these official trips have successfully brought transformation in both countries. 2017 marks India-Malaysia 60 years’ anniversary and Malaysia-India have been sharing various ties, including history, community and culture.
