High Commission of India Kuala Lumpur in partnership with Think City Penang, Dato Taizoon Tyebkhan and the local Indian Diaspora associations and schools in Penang organised "Reminiscing Rabindranath Tagore" to commemorate Guru Rabindranath Tagore at Dewan Budaya, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang on 29 November 2023 in Penang. The event was organised to situate the thoughts and ideals of Rabindranath Tagore in the contemporary world and also to popularize his noble ideas to a wider audience in an effort to provide a continuum to his rich legacy in Malaysia. His Excellency Tun Dato' Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi Bin Haji Abdul Razak, Yang di-pertua Negeri of the State of Penang graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was also be graced by H.E. Mr B.N. Reddy, High Commissioner of India to Malaysia, YB Mr.Wong Hon Wai, Penang State EXCO, Tourism & Creative Economy, H.E. Mr. Mohammad Khorshed Alam Khastagir, Deputy High Commissioner, High Commission  of Bangladesh, Ms Amrita Dash, Counsellor, Political Dignitaries, representatives from various community, business and cultural organizations, students from the local and international schools in Penang. Dato' Seri Anwar Fazal, Chairman, Think City Penang  and Gandhi Peace Centre, Penang, delivered the key note address. The event featured a one act play titled "The Babus of Nayanjore"  by Mr.Himanshu Bhat of Cape Poetics and a play titled "Tagore; A Futuristic Vision" by students of International School of Penang (Uplands), SJKT Azad School Penang, and Persatuan Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Orang Asal Perak. His Excellency Tun Dato' Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi Bin Haji Abdul Razak, Yang di-pertua Negeri of the State of Penang distributed participation certificates to all the school students. HE Mr. B.N. Reddy felicitated the Chief guest, the sponsors and collaborators of the event. As part of the event, His Excellency Tun Dato' Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi Bin Haji Abdul Razak, Yang di-pertua Negeri of the State of Penang inaugurated a photo exhibition which was organised in collaboration with Malaysian Bengalee Association and a book exhibition on the life on Rabindranath Tagore in collaboration with ICCR and NSCBICC. The event which was held as part of the George Town Literary Festival  , was attended by over 300 members. Participants were enthralled by the beautiful performances.
