India International Handwoven Fair

1. The 5th Edition of India International Handwoven Fair, organized by the Handloom Export Promotion Council, is scheduled to be held from March 11-13, 2015, at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai, India. The event will showcase the best home textiles in quality and design from all over India and internationally acclaimed handwoven creations from Indian manufacturers and exporters.

2. The India International Handwoven Fair is the first of its kind in India to showcase the exclusive products of the handloom industry to buyers worldwide. The major handloom clusters include Karur, Madurai, Kannur, and Panipat—declared as Towns of Export Excellence in the Foreign Trade Policy of the Government of India. These regions produce exportable handloom products such as bed linen, table linen, kitchen linen, toilet linen, floor coverings, embroidered textile materials, curtains, etc., for international markets.
