MTUC Delegates Share Experience, Views With Leading Trade Union

Eighteen unionists of the Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC) are in the Indian capital on a study tour to share experiences with their Indian counterparts on occupational health and safety. The delegation, headed by MTUC Assistant General Secretary A. Balasubramanian, has among others called on officials of the Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS), one of the largest trade unions in India. It also visited the Labour Institute of Faridabad, a leading institute which provides training on worksite safety. They discussed various issues effecting trade union movements where globalization and privatization continue to be a great challenge to them.
