The 7th Asian Mining Congress and Exhibition (AMC 2017)
	
	- The 7th Asian Mining Congress and Exhibition (AMC 2017) will be organized by the Institute
		at Kolkata during November 8-11, 2017. The Theme of the 7th Asian Mining Congress would be
		“International Cooperation in Innovative Technology for growth of Mineral
		Industry”.
- The Mining, Geological and Metallurgical Institute of India,
		(MGMI), which is the oldest professional institute of its kind in India and prestigious
		Institute in the world, established way back in 1906, serving the Mining, Geological and
		Metallurgical Industries and Institutes of the country through its activities. Starting from
		its Centenary year in 2006, the Institute has been hosting a biennial event of great
		National and International importance, namely the Asian Mining Congress and Exhibition. All
		the six Asian Mining Congresses were very successful events with participation of large
		number of delegates from India and there was participation of about 25 countries spread over
		different parts of the globe.
- The objective of the Congress is to focus that Asia, the
		world’s largest continent, is also the world’s largest raw material producer.
		With huge area and diversity of geological set-up in Asia, it is likely that every kind of
		deposit is present in this continent. The outlook for mine development is very promising in
		Asia and it plays a major role in the Global Economy to achieve its full potential.
- The congress will provide a forum for promotion and support of
		techno-scientific cooperation towards national and international progress in the areas of
		mineral production, in addition to the development of new opportunities of sustainable
		business that will benefit both Asian and the world communities.
