Studentsseeking student visa should apply in personat the India Visa Centre.
Students visa permit only up to 3 entries to India in an academic year.Frequent to and fro travel to India is not allowed.
Studentsneed to register within 14 daysof entering India with the nearest Foreigners Regional Registration Officer (FRRO) to get the Residential Permit to stay in India.
Students should seek extension for their student visa in India, by applying to the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer (FRRO), at least 60 days before expiry of their student visas.
Minimum5 working daysare required for processing of student visa.
AnEquivalence Certificate obtained from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhihas to be submitted in the case of fresh admission to a Bachelor degree programme offered by an Indian University (not applicable for the Twinning Programme like Melaka-Manipal, PIDC, or the Off-shore Programmes like the USM-KLE, MSU-IMS Bangalore, or the BPT Bridge Programme).
For fresh admission to medical-related courses other than twinning (MBBS, BDS, etc.):

Duly endorsed financial documentsi.e. offer of scholarship; (or) supporting letter from parent /
guardian stating they 'would meet the financial obligations towards their child's study in India', accompanied by proof of financial potential to pay for the studies abroad.
For students seeking extension of student visa for medical-related coursesother than twinning(MBBS, BDS, etc.)
Original Bonafide Certificatefrom the institution in India.
No Objection Certificate (NOC)from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India, has to be enclosed. Students can get a copy of this NOC from their College.
Duly endorsed financial documentsi.e. offer of scholarship; (or) supporting letter from parent / guardian stating they 'would meet the financial obligations towards their child's study in India', accompanied by proof of financial potential to pay for the studies abroad.
Evidence of receiving funds for their studies from abroad (Western Union, or bank transfers).
For students going to India under thetwinning programmes(MMMC-Manipal, PIDC-VMU, MSU-IMS, USM-KLE, etc.):
Original Admission letterfrom the institution in Malaysia.
Duly endorsed financial documentsi.e. offer of scholarship; (or) supporting letter from parent / guardian stating they 'would meet the financial obligations towards their child's study in India', accompanied by proof of financial potential to pay for the studies abroad.
For students going for other non-medical-related courses (Engineering, Arts, Commerce, Management, Diploma courses, etc.)
Original admission letter/Bonafide Certificatefrom the Indian institution.
Duly endorsed financial documentsi.e. offer of scholarship; (or) supporting letter from parent / guardian stating they 'would meet the financial obligations towards their child's study in India', accompanied by proof of financial potential to pay for the studies abroad.
