The Employment visa is granted to foreigners desiring to come to India for the purpose of employment. The applicant should be a skilled and qualified professional or person who is being engaged or appointed by a company, organization, industry or undertaking, etc. in India on contract or employment basis at a senior level, skilled position such as technical expert, senior executive, or in a managerial position. The foreign national being sponsored for an Employment Visa in any sector should draw a salary of more than Rs. 16.25 lakhs per annum.
The Employment Visa must be issued from the country of origin, or from the country of domicile of the foreigner, provided the period of permanent residence of that applicant in that particular country is for more than two years. Employment contract for the company in which they will be working, Indian company registration, academic certificate, application form, Two color photos in white background (Size 2” X 2”), Malaysian identity card (photocopy ), flight ticket (photocopy).
Employment visa for foreigners wishing to work with NGOs registered in India:
Anyone who wishes to come to India for honorary work (without salary) with NGOs registered in India will be granted Employment visa. However, in such cases, the foreigners eligible for honorary work with the NGOs may be paid an honorarium upto a ceiling of Rs. 10,000 per month. Applicant must submit proof of his/her employment with the NGO registered in India. Foreign nationals holding an Employment Visa for a period exceeding 180 days will be required to get themselves registered with the FROs/FROs concerned within 14 days of arrival in India. However, if the Employment Visa is valid for a period of 180 days or less, no registration would be required.
