The Tamil Nadu Technology Development & Promotion Centre of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing the H2O Tech: Conference on Water Management on 12th February 2016 at Hotel Residency, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

2. The increasing scarcity of water in many regions requires the development of new technological and scientific tools for successful management. The demands are compounded by a growing population expecting a better standard of living. The depletion of current water resources is compounded by anthropogenic activities that affect their quality. Water resources management needs to take into consideration water rights and geo-political aspects, with a view to achieving appropriate governance and regulatory solutions.

3. The conference comes at a vital time for the effective management of water resources in the face of population growth, lack of conservation ethos, urbanization, industrial development, pollution of water bodies and climate change. The conference aims to present solutions for balancing the benefits of conservation with the costs, managing water resources, sustainable utilities and infrastructure, urban planning and design, energy efficiency, water conservation, storm water and reuse.

The conference aims to cover the key areas in the following sessions:

Session I : Water Management (Water resources integrated management/Trans-boundary Water Conflict and cooperation Issues / Water management, control and regulation)

Session II  : Water Efficiency: Process & Methods (Water Use Efficiency in the Industrial sector/Water Use Efficiency in the urban sector / Water efficiency in Commercial Buildings/Water network efficiency in Agriculture)

Session III : Water Reuse Technology: Case Studies (Water Re-Use, re-cycling and Resource Reclamation/Standards, Technologies,  Equipment  and Materials for Wastewater and  Sludge Treatment/Industrial Wastewater Treatment/ Computer applications in water treatment/PPP in Wastewater Treatment, Reuse and Recycle)

Session IV : Water-Appropriate Solutions (Smart Water Strategies - Smart Utilities/Watershed protection for Sustainable Agriculture / Clean Water and Sanitation perspective in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan)

4. Around 200 senior management personnel representing scientists, engineers and practicing professionals from government department, international aid agencies, private institutions, consulting establishments, research institutes and university organizations are expected to attend this conference.
