11-Month-old Baby To Undergo Liver Transplant In India
Baby S.Yashveena is expected to arrive in Chennai, India for a liver transplant operation. MIC Youth chief C Sivarraajh told that the baby Yashveena suffers from life threatening Biliary Atresia, which requires a costly operation to treat. Furthermore, The baby’s parents could not afford the surgery. Her father works as a hospital attendant at the Sungai Buloh hospital while her mother had to quit her job to look after Yashveena. Sivarraajh said MIC knew they had to do something when they heard of Yashveena’s plight. With the help and contributions of party members, as well as party Treasurer-General S Vell Paari, the much needed funds were quickly raised. According to MIC Central Working Committee member Datuk Seri S.Vell Paari, he had made all the arrangements at Apollo Hospital, Chennai to make sure everything would go as planned. “I am glad to inform everyone that MIC will absorb the cost of the operation amounting to RM200,000 for Yashveena. On behalf of the family, we would like to thank all the kind-hearted donors for your donations, and prayers for Yashveena” said C Sivarraajh.
