1.         The Hotel Association of India, the apex body of Indian hospitality industry, is organizing the First South Asian Hoteliers Conclave (SAHC) from 9 – 10 August 2016 at The Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi, India.

2.         The objective of the Conclave is to bring together hoteliers from South Asian countries to deliberate and evolve a plan of action to mitigate the risks to tourists during disasters (natural and man-made) which occur in South Asian countries from time to time owing to their geographical location in a seismic zone. The 2015 earthquake in Nepal, recent floods in Kashmir and Tamil Nadu, Tsunamis in coastal areas and Nuclear Plant Disaster in Japan highlight the need for making hotels disaster resilient. 

3.         SAHC’2016 will also offer an excellent opportunity for networking and ideas exchange to the participants to analyse the emerging trends in Mobile and Digital Technology, Social Media’s power of ‘Word of Web’ publicity, Skill Development etc. and gain insights into their ramifications for hospitality industry.
