Global Bio India 2021

1-3 March 2021: Virtual Platform

 

Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India and its Public Sector Undertaking Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) along with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) are organizing the second edition of Global Bio – India 2021 virtually from 1 – 3 March 2021 at Virtual Platform.

Biotechnology sector is recognized as one of the key drivers for contributing to India’s economy target of USD 5 Trillion, and is poised to grow exponentially over the next decade. Policy initiatives of Government of India such as Make in India program are aimed to develop India as a world-class Biotechnology innovations and Bio-manufacturing hub. India is among the top 12 destinations for biotechnology in the world valued at USD 51 Billion during 2018-19.

Recognizing the importance of this sector, Global Bio-India 2021 would deliberate on the opportunities and key challenges in the areas of Bio-pharma, Bio-agri, Bio-industrial, Bio-energy, Bio-services and MedTech sectors. Salient components of Global Bio-India 2021 would include events such as Bio-partnering, Policy dialogues, CEO Roundtable, Global Regulators Meet, Investors Roundtable, Country/ Ministries/ Departments/ States/ Startups Pavilions. The Global Bio-India 2021 will provide an ideal platform for stakeholders across the world to converge and create the necessary environment required for the current needs of society.

The event is expected to draw large number of delegates from across the globe connecting Indian Biotechnology ecosystem with International ecosystem. This mega international congregation of biotechnology stakeholders would include participation from national & international bodies, regulatory agencies, Central & State Ministries, SMEs, Large industries, Bio-clusters, Research institutes, Investors, Startups, not for profit organizations, Philanthropic organizations and others.

 

Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Hon’ble Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Science & Technology and Earth Sciences and Dr Renu Swarup, Secretary, Department of Bio-Technology have confirmed their participation, we expect to have several other Ministers and Secretaries to grace the occasion.

Switzerland has already confirmed to be the Partner Country to the Global Bio-India 2021.
