1. The Tea Trade Association of Malaysia (TTAM) is organizing MALAYSIA INTERNATIONAL TEA & COFFEE EXPO (MITCE 2017) from 17 – 20 March 2017 at Viva Expo Hall, Kuala Lumpur.
2. Since its inception in 1956, TTAM has, through its concerted efforts, been promoting tea-drinking culture locally and abroad. MITCE 2017 will be an exhibition for the tea, coffee and beverage manufacturing, trading, retail and service industries. MITCE in 2017, an industry event solely dedicated to all aspects of the tea and coffee business in Asia. Tea and Coffee are two of the most important commodities traded throughout Asia. Tea consumption in Malaysia has increased more than 70% over a ten-year period from 17,000T in 2004 to 29,000T in 2014. In addition, the cultural melting pot of Malaysia is home to an impressive facets of tea and coffee cultures, from western style Café to typically Malaysian style Mamak store, with everything in between. In conjunction with MITCE 2017, the third Battle of Teh Tarik will be held.
3. The event is aimed to promote better communication, understanding and economic cooperation among the business community and to popularise health aspects of Tea/coffee drinking Culture. TTAM expects to bring together exhibitors for the 150 booths with about 30% from tea/coffee producing/ consumption countries like China, Sri Lanka, India, Kenya, Argentina, ASEAN, etc.
