Following the launch of Ops 6P Sepadu from January 20-21, 2014 by the Government of Malaysia which aims at repatriation of undocumented workers, the High Commission of India had been in constant touch with concerned authorities in Malaysia to facilitate return of Indian nationals whose stay in Malaysia had not been regularized.

In this connection, Labour and Consular wing of the High Commission visited camps where illegal Indian nationals were arrested and detained.  So far, officers from the High Commission visited camps at KLIA (30.01.14), Semenyih (03.02.14), Pekan Nenas (04.02.14), Bukit Jalil (05.02.14) and provided consular services to 336 individuals.  During the period from 24.01.14 to 07.02.14, 277 persons have been provided with valid travel documents for return to India.  High Commission has also received for issue of travel documents from another 202 undocumented Indians, during the same period.  In addition, 45 persons were provided with immigration clearance letter by the High Commission, for obtaining permission from the Malaysian Government to return India.  Those who approached the High Commission for help were also interviewed and necessary guidance provided to a large number.  The High Commission of India is making all possible efforts to mitigate the suffering of the undocumented Indian nationals desiring to return to India.
