Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) 2014-15 to pursue
UG & PG courses in Engineering / Architecture / Planning and MBA
in NITs / SPAs / IIITs / CFTIs in India
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD Ministry), Government of India has announced the ‘Direct Admission of Students Abroad’ (DASA) scheme for the 2014-15 academic year. Under the DASA 2014-15 foreign nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) can apply for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering, architecture, planning and MBA in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Schools of Planning and Architecture (SPAs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs).
Undergraduate admissions are based on SAT subject test scores, and postgraduate admissions are based on GRE and GMAT scores. Details of the DASA 2014-15 scheme are available at www.dasanit.org
Academic Eligibility: Candidates who have secured a minimum of at least 60% aggregate marks or 6.75 CGPA on a 10 point scale, in Higher Secondary (12th standard) or equivalent i.e. STPM / ‘A’ Levels / IB / 2 years of CPU / 2 years of SAM, etc., as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), are eligible to apply. The candidates must have taken Mathematics, Physics, and any one of the subjects from (Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Biology) at the qualifying examination level.
Candidates should have a minimum total valid score of 1440 in SAT Subject Tests (subjects: Mathematics Level 2, Physics and Chemistry). Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination with the above mentioned subjects in the academic year 2013-14 and expecting their final results by 15th September 2014 may also apply.
Residential Requirement: Candidates must be foreign nationals or PIOs who have completed the qualifying examination in any country (including India), or NRIs studying abroad. In the case of NRIs, they must have completed their 11th and 12th standard or equivalent from outside India.

Submission of Application is a 2-step process, both are essential:
i) Online application (www.dasanit.org) and submission of signed print copy of the application along with required documents and payment details to DASA Office, NITK Surathkal.
ii) SAT subject test score to be sent to NITK Surathkal (Institute code: 6530) electronically through College Board, USA.
Seat Allotment will be based on SAT subject test scores and the choices given by the candidate, in the order of their merit and priority taken together.
