Admissions 2019-20 for Foreign Nationals to Masters’ Programmes at
Nalanda University

Nalanda University was established in 2014 to emulate the famous Nalanda University of ancient India which functioned for 800 years from 400 to 1200 AD. The Nalanda University offers interactive pedagogy using a cafeteria model and research based masters’ courses for residential students. Admissions 2019-20 are now open to Foreign Nationals for its Masters’ programmes as follows:

2. There is no age limit to apply, and one should have good proficiency in English and a Bachelor’s degree with CGPA of 2.2 out of 4 or equivalent grade to be eligible to apply. Interested applicants may submit their duly filled-in application forms, along with scanned copies of their mark-sheets, and either TOEFL / IELTS score, and a Statement of Purpose (SOP).

3. The SOP should reflect on the following points / questions:

  • Write a note on “The Relevance of Culture to Education in Today’s World’
  • Describe the student’s interest in the programme of study.
  • What motivates the student to pursue an education at Nalanda University?

4. The application documents should be emailed on or before 01.06.2019 to foreignstudents@nalandauniv.edu.in, and pay an Application Fee of USD8 by RTGS / NEFT transfer using the bank details given below:

5. Shortlisted international candidates will be interviewed by video conferencing on Skype/WhatsApp. The courses will commence in August.
