High Commission of India in Kuala Lumpur celebrates 73rd Independence Day

The High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur celebrated the 73rd Independence Day in the morning of 15 August 2019 with enthusiasm and patriotic fervor.

The celebrations, held at India House today morning, commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by the High Commissioner of India to Malaysia, Mr. Mridul Kumar, followed by singing of the National Anthem. High Commissioner, thereafter, read out excerpts from the Hon’ble President’s address to the nation. In his address to the guests, he greeted the Indian community in Malaysia on the occasion and also thanked all those who participated in the function.

A large enthusiastic crowd, comprising of Indian nationals, people of Indian origin and Malaysian nationals attended the celebrations. The event included mesmerizing cultural performances, including rendition of patriotic songs by enthusiastic school children, which were highly appreciated.
