High Commission of India Kuala Lumpur PRESS RELEASE Dissemination of information on Recalibration Programme (For the return of Illegal Immigrants (PATI) announced by the Government of Malaysia and its extension until 30 June 2022 This is to bring to your kind attention that the Government of Malaysia has announced extension of its Recalibration programme (Return to home) from 31 December 2021 until 30 June 2022. The PATI programme permits repatriation of the undocumented foreign workers (with the payment of requisite fines/fees), subject to strict conditions laid down by the Government of Malaysia, through the Immigration Department and Department of Labour of Malaysia. Recalibration Programme (Return to Home country): 2. For the benefit of the undocumented foreign workers, including Indian nationals, currently in Malaysia, the Malaysian Immigration Department has announced a scheme whereby all undocumented foreign workers can leave the country voluntarily after payment of a fine of RM 500/-. This scheme is being directly monitored by the Malaysian Immigration Department. The online appointment can be applied at Malaysian Immigration website www.sto.imi.gov.my . Application of special pass by foreigners who overstayed due to MCO: 4. For Foreigners including Indian nationals,holding Social Visit pass, the duration for application for special pass has been extended upto 31st January 2022. For long term visa holders who overstayed, time period for the application is extended until 30 June 2022. The application for the special pass and renewal of the Long term pass can be done at the Visa, Pass and Permit Division counters at all State Immigration Offices. Advisory for Indian nationals 5. All Indian citizens in Malaysia who have overstayed and are willing to return to India are advised to take advantage of this programme (extended upto 30 June 2022). Please be advised not to fall victim to any fraud by unscrupulous agents who claim that they can help with payment of immigration fine or re-hiring in any Company, since both these programmes are being directly managed by the Malaysian Immigration Department and that there is no third party (Agent) involved in the process. 6. Kindly note that undocumented foreign workers who are unwilling to utilise the Recalibration programme (Return to home) or found to be working under different employer without proper documentation are liable to enforcement action including detention during checking/raids by the Immigration Department, Govt of Malaysia.
